Fabric Twinz S/S 2012 Collection
Last summer, Fabric Twinz co-founder and longtime designer Erica Moyler parted ways with the budding label leaving partner and co-designer Tanise Francis to fill the vacated spot. Francis stepped up to the challenge set before her with a new line of saucy after hours wear called “The Power of a Woman” for today’s modern woman. The Chloe Cupcakes sponsored show featured a glitzy spring ready-to-wear collection.
The new collection seems to suggest a slightly new direction—leaning more towards its edgy and chic persona. Lots of above-the-knee looks and skin-tight fitting dresses dominated the runway. The designer presented a variety of looks from the body hugging jumpsuit that covers every inch of the body to the cherry above-the-knee dress with plunging neckline and open back worn by rapper Charli Baltimore. There were also more glamorous looks like the silver sequin jumpsuit with plunging wide scoop neck and full cut pant legs and the full length silver sequins dress with its puff sleeve and large keyhole neckline like a nod to the fifties.
This new collection presented a strong point of view from the long-sleeve multi-color sequins dress with layers of lavender, teal, fern green, orange and purple to the long-sleeve cheetah-print body suit with plunging neckline to the one shoulder to the skin-fitting red Lycra dresses paired with faux fur jackets, even if it wasn’t clear the party dresses on display offered a good distraction.
